Welcome to my website. I am a postdoctoral research fellow in Data Intensive Science at the Institute of Cosmology and Gravitation (ICG), Portsmouth, UK. My research mainly focusses on the physics and cosmology of type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia), although I am interested in any transient phenomena in sky survey data. At the ICG I work in the supernova group led by Prof. Bob Nichol.
80% of my time is spent on research within the ICG, however, I also have a 20% external collaboration role. I currently work with senior cardiologists at hospitals in London where I investigate medical data using statistical techniques developed in astronomy. However, the sensitive nature of the data means I cannot freely discuss results, but I will link to any publications!
On this website I hope to discuss data analysis in astronomy, and promote my only publications and tools I have developed. I hope that this can help you with your own research. Enjoy!

Listed here are some projects I have recently been working on.
The Paterno 2004 method for the calculation of efficiencies and uncertainty on data.
In this chapter I overview how to generate a population of objects that follow the differential co-moving volume of the universe, and are distributed uniformly in spherical coordinates
